Back for its' second year- "Set Foot on a Farm, Discover Agriculture in Action" is ready to roll around the county on August 22nd.

This years tour includes farms visits to learn more about small grains and local milling operations, cover crops, cattle and feed and a honeyberry orchard.
Lunch, networking and FUN will be provided. We hope to see you there!

MDAs Soil Health Financial Assistance program is now accepting applications through August 31st.

• One of the first and only programs to reimburse for equipment including, but not limited to, no till drills, air seeders, agricultural drones for cover crop seeding, and more.
• Covers purchase of new equipment, used equipment, and parts to retrofit existing equipment.
• Awards range from $500-$45,000 (up to 50% cost share).
• Individual producers, producer groups, and local government units are eligible to apply.
• This is a reimbursement grant.

Year 2 of Dawson Pollinator Pathways is buzzing right along! Here are a few photos of what is blooming right now in the high heat of summer. Most all of our SW Minnesota native plants, once established, tolerate drought conditions with ease. As they've had many, many years of adapting to a hot and dry prairie climate.
Below are some photos of plots in Dawson planted last year, one near Rock Rapids park, and a few from the boulevards coming into downtown.
