We need to be able to understand how we can integrate new technologies into both our infantry and armor formations. From the experiment, we are trying to understand the operational effectiveness of new capabilities, looking at concepts, formations, or technologies, and how all three of these connect and could affect each other.”

Operational insights on the battlefront are crucial. The Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment executes field experiments in real time, featuring live fires, simulations and force-on-force engagements to validate what will and won’t work for Soldiers amidst the conflicts of today and the challenges of tomorrow.

“As we continue to build out our ability to operate in alpine environments, we’ve also been looking to introduce a more challenging training event that also links the legacy of the Soldiers who served in World War II and the exercise they conducted then to today." -Maj. Samuel Colby

D-Series is an annual exercise that commemorates our legacy of the 10th Light Infantry (Alpine) where Soldiers trained at Camp Hale, Colorado preparing for combat operations in WWII.

Today, 10th Mountain Division Soldiers conduct D-Series to master their warrior tasks and drills, become proficient on alpine maneuverability and survivability, and gain mental and physical toughness in a competition where only one team can come out on top.

Congratulations to 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division on their achievement of being the first unit to finish the D-Series event!

3rd Place: 2-87 IN BN, 2 IBCT
4th Place: 1-87 IN BN, 1 IBCT
5th Place: HHC BDE, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division

10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division and throughout the 10th Mountain Division participated in the first day of the 2024 D-Series (Division Series) today.
D-Series aims to allow Soldiers to hone their alpine skills and honor the training 10th Mountain Soldiers completed at Camp Hale,

Colorado in preparation for combat in World War II. Like Soldiers of the past, competitors in D-Series are put through a series of tests to prove their competency in an alpine environment!

Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians who routinely defeat dangerous devices had to overcome a different kind of hazard during training in Alaska.
To enable the U.S. Army’s focus on regaining Arctic dominance,

EOD techs from the Fort Drum, New York-based 760th Ordnance Company (EOD) recently traveled to an even colder climate to train together with 65th Ordnance Company (EOD) on Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
EOD technicians from the 760th EOD Company attended the Cold

Weather Indoctrination Course in December where they learned to construct improvised shelters and fighting positions, to ruck in snowshoes and to cook in subzero temperatures.
