Advocates Needed. Advocates are state-wide volunteers that use the most powerful tool they have, their own personal stories, to communicate to our nation’s leaders the financial, medical, and emotional costs of T1D. Use your voice to help secure Federal funding for important diabetes research, inform health and regulatory policy, and improve the quality of life for those affected by T1D until we find cures.

It's the last day of National Volunteer Week, so we wanted to recognize a special volunteer, Jana Slay!

Jana Slay has served in quite a few volunteer roles within the Mississippi Chapter of Breakthrough T1D. Currently, she is serving as an Outreach Ambassador, connecting with newly diagnosed families across the state.

As a T1D herself, Jana offers a compassionate, first-hand perspective and warm welcome to those new to T1D and Breakthrough T1D as an organization!
