As the fall sale season begins to fire up, be sure to have Saturday October 17, 2026 marked on your calendar if you're in the market for a bull.

Bulls entered in the 2026 Summer Test weigh off of test the week of September 14, 2026. Ahead of that all bulls will be scored for disposition and claw and angle and evaluated for overall structural soundness on Tuesday September 8, 2026 beginning at 9 AM at the IBEP Test Station. All are welcome to attend.

We are offering our next ServSafe Food Manager Class and Exam on Monday, September 14, 2026. The registration deadline is September 7th. ServSafe educates food service workers about food safety. ServSafe Food Protection Manager is their highest certification. It satisfies Indiana requirements to become a Certified Food Protection manager and focuses on five aspects:
o Foodborne microorganisms and allergens
o Personal hygiene
o Purchasing, receiving, and storage
o Preparing, cooking, and serving
o Facilities, cleaning/sanitation, and managing pests

For produce growers, knowing which food safety rules apply to your operation matters. A new Purdue Food Science publication explains the difference between the Produce Safety Rule, which establishes standards for the safe growing, harvesting, packing and holding of produce, and the Food Traceability Rule, which requires additional records for certain foods as they move through the supply chain.
