🌿 CALLING ALL LEOPOLD FAMILIES & COMMUNITY MEMBERS! 🌿

As we continue to grow together at Leopold Elementary, we have an exciting opportunity to bring our outdoor spaces to life for our students! ☀️ We are looking for passionate families, neighbors, staff, and community members to join the Leopold Garden Committee and help shape our living school grounds. 🌱✨

Our green schoolyard developed in partnership with 1000 Friends of Wisconsin (https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/6278fe08186848328fe41862963ec3d7) is so much more than a garden. It is a vibrant space that directly benefits our entire school community:

🧠 Supports Student Health & Well-Being: Our green spaces give kids a safe place to play, explore, and recharge outdoors—boosting their mental well-being, creativity, and energy in class!
🥗 Feeds Our School Families: Every vegetable grown in our 15 raised cedar beds goes directly to Leopold families and neighbors, sharing fresh, locally grown produce with our community.
🔬 Brings Learning to Life: From native rain gardens to vegetable and herb beds, the garden gives students hands-on experiences with science, nature, and where our food comes from.

To keep this wonderful space thriving, we need a strong team of families and community partners behind it! 💪🏡

🙌 HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
We need your ideas, hands, and voice—no gardening experience required! 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 Whether you want to help plan student planting days, spend an hour helping maintain the garden beds, or simply share your perspective, your time will directly benefit Leopold students.

🌿 ¡ATENCIÓN FAMILIAS Y MIEMBROS DE LA COMUNIDAD DE LEOPOLD! 🌿

Leopold Elementary made history with our very first “Lee Con Nosotros” event! We welcomed 60+ Latinx readers from James C. Wright Middle School, Madison West High School, UW–Madison, and community partners who came together to celebrate the power of reading and representation.
Our students had the opportunity to see themselves reflected in the stories they heard while connecting with Latinx role models from across our community. It was a beautiful celebration of culture, literacy, and community — proving once again that Juntos Podemos! ❤️📖🐺
