Even in -12° weather, there is nothing stopping the Madison Medical Recruiting Station from continuing to expand this amazing organization, the U.S. Army Medical Department. We commissioned 2LT Keast today (Health Professions Scholarship Program for Medical School) and 2LT Zhong last week (Med/Surg nurse).

It is truly an honor and privilege to be a part (usually the start) of someone's military career!

We kicked off our first suture clinic of the academic year in partnership with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health MD Admission & Recruitment, led by Libby Gartland!

We're incredibly thankful for all the students who attended and made the evening such a success - and a special thank you to Libby for her ongoing support and assistance with this event.

It was a fantastic turnout, and we're already looking forward to the next suture clinic in February.

We had the honor of teaming up with Go Army Wisconsin - Madison Co and its stations to celebrate the Army’s 250th Birthday at Demetral Park!

Future Soldiers got a taste of basic training with guidance from real Drill Sergeants—running through a portion of the AFT (Army Fitness Test), land navigation, drill and ceremony, Army customs and courtesies, TC3 (Tactical Combat Casualty Care), and even practicing simple interrupted sutures.

The day wrapped up with a spirited drill and ceremony competition and, of course, the cutting of the Army Birthday cake!
