A BIG THANK YOU is in order for the guys at DPW! After taking a call of a possible lost/stolen purse at the transfer station just before closing yesterday, they answered the call dumping 4 times what is pictured here, and searched through it. Unfortunately, no luck finding the purse but we're grateful for the attempt!

**As a side note, we need to put a bit more effort into recycling and consider passing on reusable items. We came across a number of things that either shouldn't have been in there or could have had a second chance for example: power tools, clothing, books, sports equipment toys, motor sports helmets, electronics and batteries.

**UPDATE 5/24/26**

With assistance from the school, we obtained surveillance camera stills and identified the person involved. The items have been returned and it appears there may have been some confusion as to whether or not the items were "free for the taking."

We are investigating the theft of a planter, various hand tools and a bag of planting soil from the front of the Elementary School. These items were taken during this afternoon while members of Madison Garden Club were taking a break. This group is made up of generous and hardworking volunteers from the community. They install and regularly maintain a number of these plantings across our town. If you have taken these items, we ask that they be returned, no questions asked.
