Mountaineerfest 2011 - Come on out Thursday Aug. 25th from 6:30pm-8pm and meet this year's Mountaineer Football team and get them fired up for their first home game Friday night. Great food, plenty of kids games, yours truly rocking the field along with the MCHS Band and much more.... Go Big Blue!! Held @ Eddie Dean Field

An unfavorable editorial about the conditions of Madison County High School has sparked a controversy. The newspaper's student adviser has left the school and claims administrators did not approve of the article. However, school officials deny that.

The Madison County High School football team has won at least eight games the last three seasons (8-3 in 2010, 9-2 in 2009, 8-2 in 2008), including back-to-back playoff appearances the last two years.

There will be a mandatory meeting of all students wishing to participate in any Fall Sport and their parents on Thursday July 28th at 7:00pm in the Wetsel gym. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the new concussion policy for MCHS athletics. No athlete will be allowed to participate in any Fall practice until they and their parents have signed the forms saying they have received this information.
