****IMPORTANT UPDATE****

The existing suspension has been extended to 11:59 pm on April 10th. We have received questions about burn barrels and patio permits, which are not included in this suspension, and the guidance for now is to avoid all open burning as these conditions are extremely dangerous.

It’s that time again—please be advised that a statewide tornado siren test is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th at 10:00 AM.

**** Effective immediately - March 13, 2026****

State of Nebraska has issued an Executive Order banning all Open Burn Permits for the next 14 days.

During this time, no burn permits can be issued for any reason, and any permits that were previously issued but not yet used are now void. Open burning is not allowed during this period.

State officials will review conditions before the end of the 14 days to determine whether the ban needs to be extended. We will share updates as soon as more information becomes available.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep our community safe during these dangerous fire conditions.
