Hamm, III Apartments located at 1676 Market Street in Madison, IL AND the Tyrone Echols Apartments located at the intersection of Logan and Meredocia Streets in Venice, IL. Hamm, III Apartments consist of 55 apartment units with a mix of 1 to 4 bedroom garden-style units and 1 to 4 bedroom townhome units. Tyrone Echols Apartments consist of 23 apartment units with a mix of 1 to 3 bedroom garden-st

yle units and 2-3 bedroom townhome units. Hamm, III Apartments and/or the Tyrone Echols Apartments may be picked up at the Central Office of Madison County Housing Authority, 1609 Olive Street, Collinsville, IL 62234 OR may be mailed to interested applicants by contacting 618.345.5142. A non-refundable application fee of $30.00 is required (except Public Housing and Section 8 applicants) and must be paid prior to processing the application. Rental units require eligibility determination and income verification. In addition, all applicants are subject to a credit check and a criminal background check.

NOTICE

In compliance with Section 511 of the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998, the Madison County Housing Authority (MCHA) has developed its Agency Plan for FY 2021 and update to the 5 Year Plan for years 2021-2025. This document is available for review starting September 25, 2020 at the MCHA Central Office located at 2 Eastport Plaza Drive, Collinsville, IL. The Plan may be reviewed at this office until November 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. The Authority’s hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

In addition, there will be a Public Hearing held on November 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. to discuss the Annual and 5 Year Plan. Persons are welcome to provide public comments prior to and at this meeting. Written comments will be accepted on the proposed plans and should be mailed to the above address to the attention of the Executive Director. All comments must be received by November 30, 2020 by 2:00 p.m. to be considered.

Madison County Housing Authority will stop taking applications for its SECTION 8 program after Friday, July 31, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.. All Madison County Housing Authority (MCHA) offices will once again be open to the public beginning Monday, July 6, 2020. ALL current clients/residents will require an appointment. Applicants need not have an appointment however are encouraged to obtain an application via our website, mchail.org or by emailing [email protected]. MCHA is practicing social distancing therefore, in order to enter ANY MCHA building you must be wearing a mask and your temperature will be taken at the door. We ask that you follow all guidelines posted at all the buildings. Our Drop Box will still be available so that any documents and/or payments may be dropped off without needing a mask or your temperature taken. MCHA strongly encourages the continued use of the Drop Box. Community areas at various site will be closed until further notice.
