Monroe should still be here.
Azoria should still be here.
Michael should still be here.
These are just a few of the names on the memorial posters in the Capitol Rotunda.
Every face on these posters represents a child, a dream, and a future cut short by gun violence.
Today, gun violence remains the leading cause of death for children and teenagers in America. We cannot accept that as normal.
This National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we honor the lives lost, stand with survivors and their families, and recommit ourselves to building safer communities for every child.
