The Lac qui Parle County Historical Society is happy to announce that we have added 2027 calendars to our gift shop. The calendars feature interesting and historic images of Lac qui Parle County and make a great decoration/gift for any Lac qui Parle resident or history buff.

The calendars are currently being sold in our gift shop for $10 each. They are also on sale at the Madison Mercantile.

The Lac qui Parle County Historical Society would like to announce that our museum in Madison will be open this Saturday, July 4th. On this historic anniversary of America, come down to your local museum to see how the nation has changed over 250 years. You can visit our new exhibit on the Dakota people who lived in this area back in 1776, check out the furniture, tools, and clothing brought over by our immigrant ancestors 150 years ago, and view our military display covering the work and sacrifice given by our local veterans. Or you can simply stop in to get away from the heat and enjoy some air conditioning and water. The museum will be open from 10AM to 3PM this Saturday and every other Saturday until the fall.

Does anyone remember selling something like to make money for an organization? They are called Melted Popcorn decorations and were popular in the 60's and 70's.
