There have been questions posted to our previous post regarding our Announcement for Hiring. Our department will be accepting applications until 4:00 PM on Friday, April 10th, 2026. The following Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM, testing will take place in the training room of the Fire Department. All information is posted in the flyer. We are looking forward to seeing who will be joining our department.

We all know that community outreach and education has never been more important than it is currently here at the Madison Police Department. We operate with the highest degree of honesty, professionalism, and integrity in all that we do--with each other, with our community, and with our fellow law enforcement agencies.

The representative pictured below is Keith May with Law Publications, and they will be in our community, going from business to business to get sponsorships for our community safety program.

This program provides awareness information and materials to school-age children and senior citizens, warning them about various risks and dangers associated with drugs and keeping them informed on other important safety topics.

World Wide Technology Raceway, City of Madison, Illinois,

Heads up, Madison County! A full closure of southbound and westbound I-55/70 between Illinois 159 and Illinois 157 begins at 9 p.m. Friday, July 11, for bridge repairs.

It is that time of year again—Youth Academy! It is free and open to students in the Madison School District, ages 10-16. Applications can be picked up at either the Madison Police Department or the City of Madison, Illinois, city hall. The deadline is July 7th. More information is posted on the flyer! I know this department cannot wait to see some of our past and new participants!!!

We expect most to see a dusting to 1 inch of snow Saturday. A narrow band of 2-3" of snow may form near the I-70 corridor, threatening minor travel impacts. Dry air may delay snow beginning, and uncertainty exists as to where the stronger band forms. Be careful if traveling!
