Due to the Juneteenth Holiday on Friday, June 19, 2026 the City of Madison garbage collections schedule will be as follows:

* Thursday's route will be collected on Wed., June 17th
* Friday's route will be collected on Thurs., June 18th.
* Recycling will remain as normally scheduled

Please have carts out by 7:00 AM to ensure collection.

Per our current permit from the SD Department of Natural Resources, the City of Madison can only accept grass clippings and branches at the Madison Yard Waste Site.

Resident should not drop any other wood products. We are working to identify the person(s) responsible.

UPDATE: CHIP SEALING CREWS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TODAY (May 29th) AND WILL RETURN ON TUESDAY (June 2nd, weather permitting). PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED OVER THE WEEKEND BUT RESIDENTS ARE ASKED TO NOT PARK ON DESIGNATED STREETS AGAIN ON TUESDAY, JUNE 2ND.

2026 Seal Coating to begin on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 (weather permitting)

The City of Madison contactor will begin seal coating the following
various city streets on Wednesday, May 27th (weather permitting) at 7:00 A.M.

NO PARKING signs will be placed along the designated streets. Roads will remain open to traffic except for when crews are working. No parking will remain in effect until signs have been removed.

Seal coating will begin in no particular order. City officials are asking residents to watch for and obey the NO PARKING signs and to make sure vehicles are removed from the following street locations.

• Monday's route will be collected on Tuesday, May 26th
• Tuesday's route will be collected on Wednesday, May 27th
• Recycling will be collected as normally scheduled (west of Egan Ave),
Wednesday, May 27th.
