Madison County Social Services Madison DSS also serves as the agency responsible for investigating reports of child abuse and neglect and of alleged exploitation or abuse of elderly persons.

We use this page to let community-minded people know about local happenings...ESPECIALLY ways that we can come together with individuals or groups to help our community! Madison DSS is the agency that County citizens should contact for information and application assistance for various programs, including: child care assistance; energy assistance (fuel, crisis, cooling, weatherization); SNAP (Supp

lemental Nutrition Assistance Program - food stamps); general relief; medical assistance (Medicaid or FAMIS) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

The northbound lanes of Route 29, just south of Wolftown-Hood Road, are currently shut down due to a traffic accident.

Please use caution in the area and remain alert for emergency personnel and equipment on scene. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and expect delays.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while first responders work to safely clear the scene.

Mark your calendars because the Sun Meals Food Distribution is officially back for the summer, starting on Wednesday, June 3! These summer meals are completely free and available for ALL children between the ages 1 and 18.
