Madison Elementary and MCS extends a big thank you to organizers of a STEM night for military connected students and their families.
Systems Planning & Analysis and the Military Child Education Coalition led students in a variety of STEM activities, starting with a reading of "Ada Twist, Scientist," followed by Hands-on STEM stations like Hot Wheels Speedometry, where students put physics into motion.

Students in Ms. Madelynn Ross's physical science class at Liberty Middle learn all about atoms and properties of protons, neutrons and electrons. Today's lesson spilled over to the media center. There, students broke into teams to use VR headsets to identify and define properties such as subatomic particles, electrons, neutrons and other aspects.

Representatives from area colleges and military agencies fanned out across the Bob Jones High School gym today to hand out material and answer questions that could guide student choices post-graduation. Great forum to help educate them on choices.

James Clemens High School held a college fair today. The venue provided an opportunity for students to meet with university, community college and military reps in deciding their pathways after high school.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FLIGHT AND SPACE

Journey Middle School’s Flight and Space - PLTW students are taking learning to new heights! ✈️🚀

Teacher Kaleb Hood challenged students with a “Test Flight Challenge” to explore how airplanes move and fly.

Students learned about pitch, yaw, roll, airfoils, and lift, then designed and tested their own Straw Jets.

Through multiple test flights, students modified their wing designs, measured flight distances, and collected data to see how their designs performed.

It’s hands-on learning, problem-solving, engineering, and data analysis—all taking place in the classroom and hallway!

Learning by doing. Exploring possibilities. Elevating excellence at Journey Middle School!

Madison City Schools Superintendent Mr Eric Terrell delivered an impressive report on the status and direction of MCS schools. His address was in the annual Back To Schools Breakfast hosted by the Madison City Chamber of Commerce.
The gathering provided a platform to share with stakeholders school programs, capital updates, enrollment trends, community partnerships, academic performance of students, future growth plans and other aspects of Madison City Schools.
ElevateExcellence is this year's theme of Madison City Schools..
A big thank you to the chamber and community partnerships for their continuous advocacy and support of MCS schools.

Nearly 300 people were in attendance.
Kent Chambers, math teacher and coach at Bob Jones High School, was a guest speaker giving insights as the district’s longest serving teacher now entering his 41st year at BJHS.

Madison City Schools continues to bring the CEO Program to our students!

For the 2026–2027 school year, 16 students from Bob Jones High School and James Clemens High School will participate in this hands-on entrepreneurship experience. The CEO Program helps students explore their interests, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, connect with local business and community leaders, and turn ideas into real-world opportunities.

It’s all part of our commitment to Elevate Excellence while preparing students to innovate, collaborate, and lead.

MADISON HOSPITAL AMBASSADORS

Madison Hospital Ambassador Program is underway!

Our students kicked off the Madison Hospital Ambassador Program with orientation at Madison Hospital, getting their first hands-on look at skills used by healthcare professionals every day.

During orientation, students learned about fire safety, proper hand hygiene, and safe patient lifting and transfer techniques using medical equipment. From practicing with patient lifts to seeing the importance of effective handwashing, students were able to learn by doing!

This program gives students an incredible opportunity to explore healthcare careers, learn directly from professionals, and gain real-world experience in a hospital setting.

We are excited to see what our Madison Hospital Ambassadors learn throughout the year!
