We also uncovered, just inside the kitchen, the outline of what we think were the original servant stairs up to the back bedroom.

A few discoveries made so far during the renovations:
- Envelopes addressed to Elizabeth, Martha, and Richard Hubbard postmarked 1860s
- an "Indian Head" penny dated 1865
- a mostly intact newspaper page, undated, but refers to the "recently convened 1st session of the 39th Congress", which met on December 4th, 1865, 8 months after the end of the Civil War and Lincoln's assassination
- personal invitations to 2 young ladies from a Master Eddie O. Hubbard
