We come to our Madison community once again asking for your thoughts and prayers for the family, friends, and coworkers of Forsyth County Deputy Kaleb Mitchell. Deputy Mitchell tragically lost his life in the line of duty this weekend.

Over the past two weeks, we have been painfully reminded just how much our law enforcement officers sacrifice and the risks they face every time they put on the uniform and start their shift. These men and women leave their homes and families not knowing what the day may bring, yet they continue to serve with courage and dedication.

We ask our community to join us in honoring Deputy Mitchell’s life and service by keeping his loved ones and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

We hope everyone has enjoyed this snow day and is staying warm!

While out on patrol this afternoon, Officer Renee Springs spotted some neighborhood kids sledding and couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. Meanwhile, K9 Aspen is enjoying a well-deserved day off at home, playing in the snow!

As the snowstorm continues, your safety remains our top priority. Road conditions are hazardous and visibility is limited, so we strongly encourage everyone to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. Reducing traffic helps ensure first responders can quickly reach those who truly need assistance.

You can help keep our community safe by:
-Staying off the roads
-Checking on neighbors when possible, especially the elderly
-Calling 911 only for emergencies
-Calling (336) 634-3300 for non-emergencies

Remember, the safest place to be this weekend is at home. Stay safe and enjoy the snow! ❄️
