We had beautiful weather and incredible energy at the 27th Annual Bauer Park Harvest Festival in Madison, CT. The sun was shining, the leaves were turning, and our community came out in full force.
We had pony rides and hay-maze adventures, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, and live music.
Thank you to all who attended, volunteered, and helped bring this event to life. The turnout was fantastic, the smiles were nonstop, and memories were made.

Help the Town of Madison secure a full State grant to fund a new sidewalk! 🏙️ If you’re in support of this great opportunity, please take a moment to email the Board of Selectmen. Sample support letter below. They will be voting on whether to move forward with the grant on December 16th. Your voice matters! ✉️ . Dear Board of Selectpeople,
I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed sidewalk project along Green Hill and Mungertown Roads, which is critical for improving safety and connectivity in our community—particularly for our children.
Key points in support of the project:
• Improved Safety for Children:
◦ A sidewalk connection between schools will provide a safe route for children walking or biking to school (or enjoying after school activities), reducing their exposure to fast-moving traffic. Studies show that 70% of pedestrian fatalities occur in areas without sidewalks (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
◦ The risk of a pedestrian being hit by a car is three times higher without sidewalks (National Institute of Health).
• Makes a healthier community:
◦ Children who live in neighborhoods with sidewalks are more likely to engage in physical activity, helping promote healthier lifestyles and community.
•  Community Benefits:
◦ Properties with sidewalks are valued higher, with studies showing increased resale value—up to 15 times the cost of construction (AARP). Thank you, {Your Name}, {Your Address}

🚨 Attention Madison Residents! 🚨
There’s a unique opportunity on the table for our town! On December 16, the Board of Selectmen (BOS) will be voting on whether to move forward with the connected sidewalk project—and here’s the best part: it’s 100% state-funded, meaning it would cost Madison $0!
If this project doesn’t pass, we may be looking at a hefty $1M bill for just a sidewalk in front of the new school, and the state won’t cover that cost.
💬 If you support this project, let the BOS know! Email them today—Let’s make our voices heard!
