Kentucky State Police (KSP) continues investigating a Caldwell County Murder that occurred in the Princeton Community in April 2024.

April 2026 marked two years since authorities located Dorothy Sparks deceased in her home. Investigation revealed her death to be a homicide and has been under extensive investigation since. In the wake of the anniversary, KSP Post 2 is requesting any information from the public relevant to this case surrounding the dates of April 18, 2024, near the 11000 block of South Jefferson Street (Ky-293), Princeton, KY.

🚔Kentucky State Police Post 2 Troopers joined forces with the Tennessee Highway Patrol for the “Hands Across the Border” initiative a coordinated highway safety campaign focused on reducing traffic crashes, deterring impaired driving, and promoting seatbelt use across the Kentucky and Tennessee state line.

Kentucky agencies participating included the Hopkinsville Police Department, Madisonville Police Department, Oak Grove Police Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety.

Tennessee agencies participating included the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the La Vergne Police Department.

Through partnerships like these, law enforcement agencies remain committed to making our roadways safer for everyone traveling throughout the region. 🚔

During National Police Officers Memorial Week, we pause to honor the life and sacrifice of fallen Trooper Cecil W. Uzzle.

Trooper Uzzle, age 28, was fatally injured in the line of duty on May 28, 1964, while accompanying Trooper Elmer Mobley Jr. Assigned to KSP Post 9 in Pikeville, Trooper Uzzle had served with the Kentucky State Police for two years. He is laid to rest at Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near Mortons Gap in Hopkins County.

In recognition of his dedicated service and ultimate sacrifice, KY 1460 in Pike County has been designated as the Trooper Cecil W. Uzzle Memorial Highway.

We proudly remember Trooper Uzzle and all officers who gave their lives in service to others. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

During National Police Week, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting our communities. We are grateful for the sacrifices made each day by law enforcement and their families.

This week, we especially remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and continue to keep their memory alive through service, honor, and respect.
