GSMNP’s 25 year milestone.

This year marks a quarter-century since the reintroduction of elk in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 2001. Your support of Friends of the Smokies plays a huge role in the ongoing success of the park's largest animals. In her latest post on our blog, writer Julie Dodd interviews wildlife biologists about the 25-year milestone and the status of the herd. This is the first of two stories by Dodd about the elk, with a second story on the way with the folks who launched the reintroduction. Stay tuned and enjoy part one at this link: https://friendsofthesmokies.org/blog/gsmnp-elk-reintroduction-25th-anniversary/
