Due to increased wildfire risk, the State of North Carolina and Haywood County have issued a burn ban effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28th, 2026.

🚫 ALL open burning is prohibited
This includes burning both within and beyond 100 feet of any structure.

This action has been taken due to current conditions that increase the risk of wildfires.

⚠️ What this means:

No yard debris burning
No brush piles
No outdoor fires of any kind

Please help keep our community safe by following this ban until it is lifted.

Maggie Valley Fire & Rescue would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Haywood Health Foundation for their generous grant funding that made it possible for us to purchase a new suction unit and two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

These lifesaving tools will greatly enhance our department’s ability to deliver rapid and effective emergency medical care to the residents and visitors of Maggie Valley. We are deeply thankful for the Foundation’s continued support of local first responders and their dedication to improving emergency care throughout Haywood County.

Together, we’re building a stronger, safer community.

This weekend, staff from Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue joined agencies from across North Carolina to honor firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Among the 13 inductees remembered at the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Memorial was Captain Jason Moody. These brave men and women may be gone, but they are not forgotten—their legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved them.
Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue was honored to be a part of this powerful and moving tribute.
