They’re loud and messy and ridiculous and they drive us nuts sometimes, but they also make our lives a million times better and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Happy National Dog Day to our pack of wonderful weirdos!

This young lady has been hanging around the farm. She has no collar, but also doesn’t seem to have the fleas and ticks we’d expect of a true stray. Her teats are drying up, but she had puppies nursing recently. She’s very sweet. Somebody has got to be missing her!

These are three of the four dogs we pulled from a hoarding situation about two hours from us. The fourth isn’t social enough for a photo shoot yet. Right now, they’re being cleaned up and debugged. Once they’re fully vetted, they’ll be available for adoption!

The black and white lady (currently dubbed Black Dog) may be pregnant, and has certainly had enough litters. She’s skittish but very calm once you’ve picked her up. She loves peanut butter and quiet time. She’s a rat terrier (mix?) and should even out around 15-20lbs.

The next pup is a terrier-hound mix boy (currently dubbed Brother). He’s a do**us and learning how to be social. Food is a huge motivator for him! He would 100% rather be in your lap than anywhere else. Right now we’re guessing maybe six months of age.

And the last pup pictured here is his littermate (currently dubbed Sister). She’s a little more shy than her brother, but much more polite. She’s also fond of laps and sitting on the back of a couch.

We also have a younger adult lady rat terrier (currently dubbed Brown Dog). She’s absolutely terrified of everyone and everything. A treat dropped in front of her is treated as a bomb, and she shivers while saying her goodbyes. She doesn’t like being alone, and isn’t used to humans even just being around, much less interacting with her.

We’ll continue updating y’all on this group of Malvern dogs, and in the meanwhile we’ve got to thank Stop Animal Cruelty in Garland & Hot Spring Counties! They’re the ones who did the bulk of the work and all the organizing, getting sixty dogs off the property and into rescues.
