It’s our favorite time of year!
Our cookie dealer came through with a special delivery for us. Troop 105002 is most likely the best Troop around but if there’s another Troop that thinks they can do better, we’re volunteering to be the judge in that cookie war.

Officers had a motorcycle pass them on 1488, doing 104 in the 50 mph zone. The rider refused to stop and led officers on a chase that ended in a neighborhood off of 242. After being taken into custody, the rider stated he only ran because he didn’t think cops could chase bikes. Contrary to his misguided belief, the male was charged with Evading with a Motor Vehicle.

Officers responded to a 911 call of the vehicle not being able to drive in its lane and running a red light. The vehicle was located and stopped off of S. Magnolia. After an intoxication investigation, the male driver was arrested for DWI.

1488-1774 widening.
For roughly the next month, we will be experiencing construction at the railroad crossing of 1488 and 1774. There will be a continuous closure of lanes but the plan is to still have 1 lane each direction, and a turn lane. The intersection is currently down to 1 lane over the tracks, due to a trailer damaging the tracks. Once the railroad crew fixes that damage, it will be back open to the 3 lanes. Please keep in mind that the timeline is all weather contingent, but we will do our best to keep the community updated.

A traffic stop was conducted on 1488. While the front passenger was retrieving her ID, a baggie of m**h was observed in her purse. Due to a subsequent vehicle search, another baggie of m**h was located in the backseat. Both the female and male in the backseat were arrested for PCS.

Yesterday, MPD was dispatched to a crash off of 1488. A vehicle drove through the front of the business, accidentally. Thankfully no one was injured. Wok Inn is not a drive-thru restaurant, just to clarify for the audience…

Thanks to Donnie’s Daycare for inviting us to come do Child ID cards for several of their kids.
This allows parents to provide all of the pertinent information that law enforcement needs to issue an Amber Alert. This saves valuable time if a child is missing or abducted.

Melton Road Closure.
Melton St, from Smith to 1488, will be closed until June 26.
The original notification was that this would open tomorrow but TXDOT will keep it closed, due to railroad work that must be completed.
This should not affect FM 1488 or Smith St traffic.
