Carmel Police Department is joining the Guardian Revival One Mile Challenge!

The Guardian One Mile Challenge is a 30-day virtual walking event designed to raise funds & awareness to combat veteran & first responder su***de in the United States. Over the course of the one month challenge, you’ll walk (run, or roll) 30 total miles: 1 mile each day of September.
This is a virtual challenge that operates on the honor system. Participants walk wherever they are and self-monitor their completion of their daily mile.

🎓 Congratulations to Our 2025 Scholarship Recipients! 🎓

On June 3rd, the Carmel Police Benevolent Association had the honor of awarding the Gary Pietropaolo Memorial Scholarship to five outstanding students from Carmel and Mahopac High Schools. These remarkable young individuals have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and a deep commitment to their communities.
We are proud to support them as they take the next steps in their academic journeys and are confident they will continue to make a positive impact in the world.

This scholarship was established in memory of Officer Gary Pietropaolo, a dedicated member of the Carmel Police Department whose legacy continues to inspire. Through the continued fundraising efforts of the Carmel PBA, we are proud to offer this scholarship annually to graduating seniors who reside in the Town of Carmel and plan to attend an accredited college or trade school.
We look forward to continuing this tradition in 2026!

Thank you to The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to participate in your annual Scholarship Night and for helping us celebrate the achievements of so many deserving students!

The Gary Pietropaolo Memorial 5K

Carmel PD and the Carmel PBA want to thank everyone that came out for last week's Gary Pietropaolo Memorial 5K. The Pietropaolo family, Gary's friends and colleagues, fellow first responders, elected officials, and the community came out to raise over $26,000 to support scholarships for Carmel Central Schools and Mahopac Central School District college bound high school students.

This was a great event to honor Gary's memory and we look forward to (hopefully some better weather) at next year's run. Thank you all!
