Mahwah Fire Company #2 is thrilled to announce our Annual Golf Outing! We are inviting golfers to join us for a day of scramble-format fun, great food, and competition, all while supporting vital community charities. 🤝

Fire Company 2 would like to Congratulate FF Yerger and FF Post on their graduation from Hazardous Materials Technician hosted by the BC EMS Training Center.

Company 2 spent the evening with and other mutual aid agencies for an excellent training session on Electric Vehicle emergencies.

From fire suppression tactics to post-fire recovery protocols, Big Tows and the ESA provided some great insights into how we can better manage these complex incidents.

On Saturday, Fire Company 2 attended a training session at the Bergen County Fire Academy with Suffern Volunteer Hose Co. #1 and Suffern Hook & Ladder Co. #1. Firefighters practiced extinguishing fire and performing searches.

Yesterday at approximately 6pm Fire Company 2 was requested to respond as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) into Tallman, N.Y.

Ladder 2 assisted with extinguishment and overhaul throughout the incident.

Fire Company 2 is saddened to hear of the passing of Ex-Chief Frank Wilson, brother of Suffern Ex-Chief and Co2 Firefighter John Wilson.

The Suffern Hook & Ladder is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Frank Wilson, Life Member of the Suffern Hook & Ladder Co. #1. Frank proudly served as the 55th Chief of the Suffern Fire Department from 1999 – 2002 and was a 52-year Life Member of the Suffern Hook & Ladder Co. #1. Frank served the department and community with dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment for many years. Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. Frank’s commitment to service extended beyond the local community to outside of our nation, reflecting a lifelong dedication to protecting and helping others. He is survived by his son Kyle, sister Christine Andersen, brothers – Ex-Chief Glen Wilson, Ex-Chief John Wilson, Hook & Ladder Ex-Captain Larry Wilson, Hook & Ladder Life Member William Wilson, and nephew – Hook & Ladder Ex-Captain Matthew Wilson. We extend our deepest condolences to Frank’s family and friends during this difficult time. Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on April 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on April 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Firematic service will be held at 1:30pm. A repass will be held at the Suffern Hook & Ladder, 143 Lafayette Ave, immediately following all services.

PSA: The Mahwah Fire Department will be conducting a drill on Cedar Hill Ave. tonight from approximately 7pm to 1030pm.

Cedar Hill Ave will be closed at Franklin Tpke to Sargent Ct. and theatrical smoke may be observed in the area.

Last night Firefighters from Companies 1, 2, 3, and 4 came together to train on search techniques. What started as a group discussion ended with 3 skill based stations including searching from a window and split searching.
