Sleep Reset: Prep for Wednesday, Sept 2 🛌⏰✨

If your summer routine currently means staying up late and sleeping in, shifting back to school hours all at once can make Day 1 feel extra tough.

Give your body clock a few days to adjust gently with these 3 sleep steps before school starts on Wednesday, September 2:

1️⃣ Shift Bedtime 15 Mins Earlier: Move your bedtime back gradually each night leading up to September 2.
2️⃣ Set Your School Alarm: Start waking up at your school-day time over the weekend to practice the routine and catch some morning natural light.
3️⃣ Screen-Free Wind-Down: Put phones and devices away 30–60 minutes before bed. Blue light tricks your brain into staying awake!

A well-rested brain handles first-week jitters, schedule changes, and routine shifts so much easier. 💙
Save this post 📌 to keep these steps handy for your weekend routine!

Key Takeaways by Grade Level:

Elementary (K-5): Focus on building steady morning routines, listening to fears with empathy, and offering extra reassurance.

Middle School (6-8): Help establish consistent study/sleep schedules and work together to manage performance pressure.

High School (9-12): Encourage independence while keeping communication open, supportive, and judgment-free.

💙 Welcome back, Warriors! 💙

As we get ready to kick off the new school year on September 2nd, we’re excited to see our classrooms, hallways, and lunchrooms filled with energy, conversation, and real connection!

Pursuant to New Jersey’s statewide “Phone-Free Schools” policy—which limits non-academic device use during the school day—we want to help our students make a smooth transition. Shifting away from constant screen time can feel like a big adjustment, but small daily habits make a massive difference!

Check out the graphic above for simple tips on how to start phasing off your phone this week so you can walk in on Day 1 feeling focused, present, and ready to learn. 📚✨
