Memorial Day is a national day of remembrance that honors the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. Originally known as Decoration Day, Americans were called to honor these fallen soldiers by decorating their graves with flowers and flags. Hamilton Township proudly continues this tradition every Memorial Day by placing a flag at each of our 439 veterans graves.

The Township would like to address recent misinformation that someone posted on social media regarding a proposed school development on Schlottman Road. At this time, the Township has not received any information, applications, or proposals related to the property or development of a school at that location. There are not any items on the May 20th Trustees meeting agenda related to any proposed schools nor any properties on Schlottman Road.

As always, we remain committed to keeping residents informed with accurate and verified information as it becomes available.

In addition, the Township is being proactive in addressing concerns related to the increase in semi-truck traffic and commercial vehicle activity within the community. Township officials are pursuing text amendments to Chapters 4, 6, and 12 of the Zoning Resolution.
The proposed amendments will include updates to:
โ€ข Lighting requirements
โ€ข Limit off-site semi-truck and commercial truck parking facilities

These efforts are intended to help protect the character of our community while planning responsibly for future growth and development. We appreciate the continued involvement and feedback from our residents and encourage residents to call or email Township elected officials or staff to verify posts on social media that are generated by a source other than Hamilton Township.

Join us, Warren County Water Striders organized by Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District, and The Onion Bag Litter Prevention Project for a litter cleanup at Mounts Park. We are capping the historic, illegal landfill and we're doing a cleanup of the last remnants of the litter to help preserve the natural beauty of this lake. You can go by foot or on a kayak along the shores to pick up litter. Boats, gear, and onion bags provided. The Warren County Solid Waste Management District will help us recycle and dispose of everything we collect. Click the link in the comments to register.

Morrow-Cozaddale Road Bridge #43-5.97, over Big Foot Run, between US22/SR3 and Ludlum Road, will be closed for rehabilitation beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2026, for ten (10) weeks, weather permitting.

Please contact the Warren County Engineer's Office for any questions concerning the road closure.
