Last week, we had the privilege of speaking with the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta at UCF about the work we do every day to support Central Florida families. Their Kindly Hearts initiative has been a steady source of support for RISE - and this visit made that support feel even more personal. Their sisters assembled notes of encouragement for the kids in our programs as they head back to school, and they're now running a food drive to help our families through the year.

Thank you for the invitation, the thoughtfulness, and for always showing up for the kids and families we serve. We love AXID! 💙

We've been busy!

From resource fairs to "Meet the Teacher" nights to school supply giveaways, our team has been all over Central Florida connecting with families, sharing what RISE offers, and making sure kids start the year ready to learn.

Huge thanks to every school, church, neighborhood center, and community partner who welcomed us these last few weeks. Moments like these are exactly why we love this work - meeting families where they are, before the school year even starts.

🎉 Congratulations to Madeline, Allison, Itiba, and Chris on successfully completing their Purposely Enriching Educated Recovery (PEER) training! Next step: earning their Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) credentials!

A huge thank you to NAMI Central Florida and Central Florida Cares for delivering this training as the first step toward this important credential.

Why does the CRPS credential matter? Our peer staff aren't just trained to help - they bring their own lived experience to the table, meeting families with empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental approach. They walk alongside families as they set goals, build on their strengths, and grow more confident in their ability to advocate for themselves and their kids. They've been there. They get it. And that's exactly what makes them so good at what they do!

Our first Caregiver Education Series class is in the books - and the response was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ across the board!

Families joined us to talk about Ages & Stages: Developmental Milestones from 0-5 years, and left with real, practical tools for understanding how their kids grow - cognitively, socially/emotionally, physically, and in communication and everyday life skills. Parents told us they loved having the info broken down stage by stage, so they could actually see where their child is and what's coming next.

Join us for Ages & Stages: Child Development Milestones, an evening all about understanding what to look for - and how to support - your child's growth from birth to age 5.

We'll cover the 5 key areas of development (cognitive, social-emotional, motor, communication, and adaptive skills), what typical milestones look like at each stage, and practical strategies to encourage your child every step of the way.
