Last year, we had the honor of celebrating LaVell Monger as our New Generation Award recipient at our first annual RISE Together event!

As co-owner of RTW Photography, LaVell has invested over $100,000 in pro-bono services for nonprofits, small businesses, and students. He serves as the first Black Chair in the history of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and advocates tirelessly for youth and emerging leaders across Osceola County. Director of Development - Lead our fundraising and relationship-building efforts, grow our donor community, and help sustain the work that keeps Central Florida families stable and supported.
Housing Case Manager - Walk alongside families experiencing or at risk of homelessness as part of our Pathways to Home program, connecting them to resources and supporting long-term stability.

Last week, our growing Breakthrough team came together for a beautiful breakfast in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. 🧠💚

It was a special morning, during which our Family Support Navigators shared success stories and reflected on how their lived experiences help them support families navigating youth mental health challenges. Their personal stories often break down barriers, helping parents feel empowered to seek the services and support their children deserve.

We also took time to acknowledge the power of peer support within our own team. This peer-led program not only uplifts families in our community, but also creates a space where staff encourage, understand, and support one another while doing this meaningful work.

We're proud of this team and the heart they bring into every family they walk alongside!

We’re raising a big round of applause for the incredible people who make our mission possible - from milestone birthdays to a decade of dedication.

A very special shoutout to Kim Alchalel, who is marking 10 years with RISE! 🎊 Ten years of showing up, serving families, and making a difference. Kim, your commitment to this work is an inspiration to all of us.

RISE is proud to have partnered with Orlando Health and the Orlando City Soccer Club network to deliver Youth Mental Health First Aid training to their coaches and staff. Through this collaboration, we equipped their team with practical tools to recognize, understand, and respond to mental health needs amongst their athletes and within the community.

Congratulations to our own Prita Chhabra, Program Director for Public Allies Central Florida, for being named an Orlando Women of the Year 2026 Honoree. Prita was among the select group of leaders attending a breakfast reception celebrating their recognition by Orlando Magazine.
