Our fall sports and activities teams were officially announced on Friday at our very first pep rally of the school year! Our administrators completely lost their minds. While Mr. Hudson and Mr. Talley went full tribal warfare cheering for their own grades, Mrs. Burgess had to play Switzerland, doing the ultimate neutral crowd-work just to make sure the gym didn't split in half from the volume.
Our Eagles have spirit yes we do! We've got spirt how about you!?!?!?!?!

It was a magical morning at MMS!!! 🌈 🌈
The double rainbow felt like the universe's way of giving all of us.... parents, teachers, and students a giant gold star 🌟 for surviving and thriving this first week. We made it through morning drop offs, tours of the Maize maze 🗺 (this school is HUGE!), and picture day!!!

WALKERS & BIKE RIDERS
Please be aware that the crosswalk button on the East side of North Maize Rd. (closest to the school) is not working properly, and may cause longer wait times. Public works has been notified. The part has been ordered and will be fixed as soon as it arrives. Until it is fixed, please cross the road at the 45th and Maize Rd crosswalk.

Drop Off/Pick Up
Students that ride the bus to school will be dropped off in the designated area and the bus stop as assigned. Bus routes are still being finalized, and communication will be sent out upon completion. Specific questions about transportation can be answered by the Maize Transportation Department (316) 722-0582. Students that are car riders will be dropped off and enter through the main entrance. Our parking lot is busy so please be patient, avoid peak times (within 5 minutes of arrival and dismissal) if possible, and have your student prepared and ready to exit the vehicle in a quick and safe manner. Please utilize the traffic flow map to help us increase efficiency for morning drop-off.

Join us for our Back to School Open House or if you need a little more time with teachers you can come for Parent Teacher Conferences!
This is a great opportunity to tour the school, meet your teachers, and get ready for a fantastic year ahead.
**Students may bring their school supplies during open house or parent-teacher conferences. Consumable supplies (tissues, wipes, etc.) should be taken to the Eagles Landing classroom. All other supplies can be stored in the student locker and used as needed or at the direction of the content teacher.
We can't wait to welcome our students back!

Last week, Mrs. Burgess, Mr. Hudson and Mr. Talley collaborated with other District Administration on ways to help make this 2026-27 school year a huge success for our students and staff.
One of the team-building activities they participated in was pickleball. Rumor has it they're better at serving up success at MMS than they are on the pickleball court!
