Malabar Fire Department

Malabar Fire Department Malabar Fire Rescue is located in southern Brevard County, Florida. We are honored and privileged to serve the Town of Malabar and YOU.

The agency provides emergency services primarily to the Town of Malabar which comprises approximately fourteen square miles and is called home by approximately three thousand residents. These emergency services include: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Motor Vehicle Collisions, Large Animal Rescue, and other various calls for service. In addition, Malabar Fire Rescue has Automatic Aid

and Mutual Aid agreements with neighboring agencies, allowing for enhanced operational capability between departments. Initially founded in 1978, the department was 100% volunteer until recent years when growing call volume and capability demands required the addition of paid staffing. Today the department is comprised of ten paid staff members across four shifts and are supported by volunteer fire personnel. Paid Personnel include: The Fire Chief, Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief, four full time Lieutenants, and four full time Driver/Engineers. All paid fire suppression positions require a minimum of Firefighter I/II State Standards and EMT-B Licensure. In addition, all staff members hold additional certifications other than what is required including: State Fire Officer courses, State Pump Operations and Hydraulic courses, Large Animal Rescue, Rope Rescue, Aircraft Firefighting courses, and more. Thank you for your continued support!

🚒 Trunk or Treat in Malabar! 🎃
The Town of Malabar hosted another great Trunk or Treat event, and our Malabar Fire Department units and personnel were proud to be there! We had our apparatus on display and enjoyed talking with all the families and kids who stopped by to say hello.

It’s always great connecting with our community especially when candy and costumes are involved!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it a fun, safe evening for all. We’re already looking forward to next year!
