To kick off Women's History Month aboard Old Ironsides, we are celebrating YNC Loretta Perfectus Walsh! She was the first woman to enlist in any of the branches, and the first woman to become a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer.

Last March, USS Constitution's crew named one of the ship's long guns "Perfectus" in her honor.

Earlier this year, the Sasaki Foundation launched the Mobility Innovator Initiative, a yearlong effort to address mobility challenges in Greater Boston through the lenses of resiliency and equity. As part of this effort, Sasaki and the Sasaki Foundation is developing GET [T]HERE, a website that will explore the challenges of how people move freely, safely, and comfortably in Gateway Cities in Greater Boston, specifically in Lynn and Malden.

Mobility Innovator Initiative: https://www.sasakifoundation.org/mobility-innovator/

The interactive survey, GET [T]HERE: Malden, is now available and is an opportunity for Malden residents to be part of this work by expressing their mobility priorities and observe how different projects can support their needs. This interactive survey will remain open from now until just before Thanksgiving. Survey participants are eligible for a $100 gift card raffle to Target and can opt-into the raffle upon completion of the survey.

This survey is available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Simplified Chinese.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in a facilitated conversation this Friday, October 30th on this same topic. This 90-minute conversation will be in English-only, and participants will be compensated for their time.

If you are interested in sharing your experiences that focus on challenges related to how you move through your community, register here: https://lvn.org/conversations/?partner=sasakiFoundation
