Long, casual walk. Lush green. Some other colors too.

"We hear there is a view here?" You are getting close.

"Did they do geodetic surveying by the stars?"

People of all different ages hiking around this corner of the Fells in Malden today. Friendly community.

Blue skies seem closer "up there".

Visit for the view. Stay for the fresh air.

The City of Malden is moving forward with a process to cut down two dozen public shade trees. A requirement of MGL is to hold public shade tree hearings. Please, speak up by attending or emailing according to the information provided below. Thank you!

City leaders only recently revealed plans to remove 21 public shade trees from Roosevelt Park. For five years they've only revealed one tree was on the chopping block while working on their planned conversion of the multi-acre, natural grass Roosevelt Park (the playground for the largest K-8 city school) into an artificial turf sports complex (in a FEMA flood zone).

TREE HEARING, 6 PM, Wed, Jan, 3 at Malden City Hall, Conference Room 105, 215 Pleasant St., Malden

“For the purpose of determining if 24 public shade trees (21 Roosevelt Park and 3 at Fitzgerald Park) will be removed or remain. Objections to tree removal must be received in writing by or on Jan. 3.” - per Malden Tree Warden Chris Rosa
Please write and object to removal of neighborhood green space.

To voice objection: Email:[email protected]
Christopher Rosa, City of Malden Tree Warden
cc: [email protected]

Or deliver a letter [to]: Christopher Rosa, City of Malden Tree Warden, 150 Forest, St. Malden, 02148

Or bring a written letter to the tree hearing at Malden City Hall, Jan, 3. Thank you!
