🚨 Give Your Input on Malibu’s Speed Safety Program! 🚨

The City invites community feedback on the draft Use Policy & Impact Report for Malibu’s Speed Safety Program, which will bring automated speed citation cameras and speed feedback signs to PCH to help protect pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.

💡Studies have shown that speed citation cameras implemented in several US cities have resulted in significant reductions in speeding, traffic collisions, and traffic injuries and deaths!

📅 Public comment is open through July 18, 2025

This program was made possible by legislation from Senator Ben Allen, signed into law just one year after four Pepperdine students were tragically struck and killed by a speeding motorist while standing along PCH in Malibu.

A special thank you to the California National Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their unwavering dedication to our community following the recent wildfires. Your efforts in ensuring the security of Malibu and your crucial role in fire debris removal have been instrumental in our recovery and rebuilding process.

As we gather with friends and family this weekend, let us take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our service members and express our gratitude for their commitment to protecting our community.

Learn About the Malibu Speed Safety Program - Virtual Meeting 4/23, In-Person Meeting 4/30

The City of Malibu is committed to prioritizing the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Following California State Legislature adoption of SB 1297, the City of Malibu is excited to announce the Malibu Speed Safety Program. Join us to learn more about how the program will address safety concerns and speed-related collisions in the community!

Malibu, you can join the City's new PCH safety movement "Cruise Malibu - Surf, Sand, Slow" - it's community designed, and aimed at empowering residents to help change driver behavior to make PCH in Malibu safer for our community, and for all users of our iconic highway.

Together, we can make a difference – slow down, cruise Malibu, and enjoy the beautiful ride on PCH to slow the pace of traffic and set a positive example for others!
