In 2007, two Pepperdine University law students traveled from Malibu, California to Kampala to try and understand the Ugandan culture, only to find that the criminal justice system was held up by massive backloads of cases. Over the next several years Pepperdine alumni, professors and students made yearly trips to help Uganda implement this massive, systemic change. This film captures the story of l2 students as they clerk for judges in Uganda for 8 weeks, spending one of those weeks in the over-crowded Luzira prison, face-to face with prisoners.
