Air Force Global Strike Command | Outdoor Recreation Department

Love the outdoors and leading a team? This role is all about running a high-energy Outdoor Recreation program—keeping operations smooth, activities exciting, and resources managed the right way.

✨ What you’ll do:

Lead the overall economic and efficient operation of the Outdoor Recreation Program

Administer business, financial, and recreation operations within established policies

Oversee multiple facilities and activities (geographically dispersed) and ensure participation follows policy

Build program goals and objectives aligned with agency intent

Create and manage short- and long-term budgets and fiscal requirements (APF & NAF)

Track daily sales revenue, operational funds, fixed assets, and property

Purchase/coordinate procurement for supplies and equipment

Ensure maintenance and repair of facilities/equipment; submit work orders as needed

Organize and publicize events—submit marketing requests to promote programs

Coordinate with installation offices on land/water resource use, conservation, and recreation planning

Plan and execute outdoor activities like: biking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, paintball, rock climbing, scuba diving, skiing/snowboarding, swimming, rafting, skydiving, and overnight trips

Ensure safety orientations are provided for specific activities

Supervise staff: assign work, train employees, evaluate performance, manage schedules, and handle day-to-day personnel matters

Love the outdoors and helping people gear up for adventure? Join Outdoor Recreation as a Recreation Assistant (Equipment Rental) and help keep our equipment, rentals, and facilities running smoothly!

✨ What you’ll do:

Assist with the operation and upkeep of outdoor recreation facilities and equipment

Test ski and boating equipment for safe operation

Demonstrate equipment use and basic outdoor activity techniques

Inspect facilities/equipment for security and general condition

Schedule boats, equipment, and recreation areas for use

Issue and receive equipment loans and rentals

Verify customer and guest eligibility

Operate a cash register, make change, and complete sales

Sell new/used items and set up displays

Share info on Outdoor Rec programs and off-base recreation opportunities

Perform basic maintenance/repairs on bikes, skis, lawn & garden, and other gear

Handle hands-on tasks like lifting boat motors, connecting trailers, and troubleshooting 12-volt electrical connections

Occasionally tow outdoor equipment to off-base sites

Perform other related duties as assigned

Love coffee, customer service, and a busy café vibe? Join the team at Grizzly Bend as a Food Service Worker (Barista) and help serve up great drinks and good energy every day!

✨ What you’ll do:

Operate a limited coffee bar and prepare hot beverages like:
brewed coffee, lattes, espresso, tea, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and more

Follow basic cappuccino/espresso methods, including:

Preheating cups and portafilters

Understanding coffee grind differences

Pulling/tamping shots and timing extraction

Frothing vs. steaming milk

Explaining drink options to customers

Sell and serve a variety of pastries

Operate a cash register, process payments, make change, and complete cash accountability documentation

Set up and prep the service area, tables, and side stations

Keep work areas clean and organized; break down and clean at the end of service

Wash glassware and equipment (dishwasher or manual), clean beverage makers/utensils, and take out trash

Set up the cappuccino corner, obtain the cash bank, stock service bars, and assist the supervisor as needed

Perform other related duties as assigned

Prepare and cook a variety of simple menu items such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and vegetables

Make hot cereals, broiled meats, and prepare soups, sauces, and gravies (concentrated/dehydrated)

Prepare cold sandwich fillings and convenience foods like frozen hash browns, fish fillets, and chicken nuggets

Some positions may include preparing and baking pizza

Prep ingredients by peeling, chopping, slicing, dicing, grinding, breading, and more

Weigh/measure ingredients, assemble menu items, portion food for meal service

Set up and restock the salad bar

Cover, date, and store leftovers properly

Wash and clean kitchen equipment and work areas

May collect money, operate a cash register, and complete basic cash accountability paperwork

Perform other related duties as assigned

✨ What you’ll do:

Manage expendable and nonexpendable supply items through stock control, requisitioning, delivery, and inventory tracking

Analyze usage rates, inventory levels, seasonal demand, pricing, and special projects to forecast needs

Determine required quantities using historical data, occupancy/utilization, and sound judgment

Maintain minimum stock levels of supplies and amenities to prevent shortages and work stoppage

Manage perishable items to ensure use before expiration

Ensure proper security for high-value items and items prone to pilferage

Maintain MSDS for chemical solutions

Pick up and deliver supplies, amenities, and equipment on scheduled intervals across work centers

Perform warehousing duties following safety and storage standards

Maintain accurate property accountability and reporting for nonexpendable items

Salvage broken/obsolete supplies and equipment per directives and policy

Sort and distribute supply documents to appropriate storage areas

Maintain and catalog reference files, standards, specs, and cataloging tools for easy retrieval

Ensure warehouse equipment/tools receive maintenance and preventive maintenance

Perform other related duties as assigned

💪 Physical Requirements:
May be required to lift items ranging from 50–100 lbs.
