The Medical Group never closes without a good reason. On 17 and 18 July, the 341st Medical Group completed two days of training and exercise as the pilot unit for Sustainment Operations for AFMS Response (SOAR). SOAR pushed the Big Horn Medics to improve disaster and mass casualty response and validated the program for over 70 other facilities. Big Horn Medics… PROTECT THE HERD!

As a reminder, only the pharmacy is open in the 341st Medical Group today, 17 July 2024. Tomorrow, 18 July 2024, the entire facility will be closed for training.

The 341st Medical Group was selected to validate the Sustainment Operations for AFMS Response (SOAR) program over today and tomorrow. This two day training and exercise pushes the Medical Group's disaster capabilities to the max, preparing our medics for emergency surge and CBRN operations. The 341st Medical Group will be the first unit in the Air Force to go through SOAR, and will ensure it meets the requirements of the entire enterprise.

The appoinment line technical issue has been resolved. Patients may call 406-731-4MED to make an appointment. It is still recommended that patients enroll in the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal (http://my.mhsgenesis.health.mil) for future outages and the ability to message their care teams.

The 341st Medical Group will have modified hours next Wednesday, 17 July. The pharmacy will be open from 0730 to 1630, but all other services will be closed.

Additionally, the 341st Medical Group will be closed on Thursday, 18 July, for the regular training day (the 3rd Thursday of each month). The clinic will reopen at 0700 on Friday, 19 July.

When the clinic is closed, patients may contact the Military Health System (MHS) Nurse Advise Line by calling 1-800-TRICARE (874-2273), option 1. For emergency medical needs, dial 9-1-1 or report to your nearest emergency room.

The 341st Medical Group is looking for volunteers to play patients during an exercise on Thursday, 18 July 2024. Volunteers will be provided with injury make-up, casualty cards, and instructions. No acting experience is required. This is a great opportunity to help the MDG improve its disaster response capabilities! Please note that all volunteers must have valid ID and base access.

The Medical Group is currently experiencing an enterprise issue affecting our ability to connect to some of our healthcare systems. The 341st Medical Group will be open tomorrow (12 January) for patients with acute symptoms only. Call 406-731-4633 to schedule one of these appointments. The pharmacy will be open for regular business hours.

The clinic will be closed on Monday (15 January) for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and will reopen on Tuesday (16 January).

Finally, the clinic will be closed for training on Thursday (18 January) and will reopen on Friday (19 January).

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Each year, more than 13,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in the United States. This type of cancer can be preventable with screening. If you are between the ages of 21 and 29 years old, a Pap test is recommended every 3 years. If you are 30 years or older, your screenings can be every 5 years with HPV testing.
