Sheriff’s Summer Camp

Sunday, July 19th was the first day of New York State Sheriff’s Institute Summer Camp. This camp is located on Keuka Lake and concludes Saturday July 25th.

Franklin County Sheriffs Office was able to send 5 children to camp this year, and they were escorted by Officer Prue and Officer Barney.

Applications for next summer will open early in 2027.

Please be Advised, there is a young man named Martine Cao, with Southwestern Advantage, selling books, websites, and apps door-to-door this summer in the Franklin County area.
He drives a Grey Toyota RAV4 with an Utah License plate BOOKMAN.
He has checked in with Sheriff Cook and asked we let you know he is going to be in our area for the next month or so.

Scam Phone Calls

Please be advised there have been reports of scam phone calls from the Franklin County Sheriffs Office requesting payment for enrollment of Incarcerated Individuals in programs for early release. The Franklin County Sheriffs Office will never call you requesting money, please ignore such phone calls and never send money to anyone without verifying their request. If you receive a phone call like this, you can reach out to our office (518-483-6795).

Jury Duty Scam Phone Calls

Please be advised; there have been reports of scam phone calls to individuals in our County. The caller states they are from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and advises the person receiving the call that they have missed jury duty and they are in trouble. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office will never call you regarding missed Jury Duty. If you have any questions about your Jury Duty Service, please contact the Franklin County Commissioner of Jurors.
