EMS is considered “essential” in Pennsylvania—but there’s no required funding to support it.
At Malvern Fire Company, we rely on:

Insurance billing (often below cost)
Municipal support (limited)
Donations (helpful, but not enough)

Meanwhile, the volunteer EMS system is declining, and the need for paid, career staff continues to grow.
We are committed to serving you—but the system is under strain.

Effective June 5,2026
Paul Miller's Law prohibits drivers from holding their phones or supporting them against their bodies while operating a vehicle.
The restrictions remain in effect even when the vehicle is temporarily stopped, such as at red lights, in traffic jams, or during other short delays.
Drivers may use their phones only through hands-free technology, including Bluetooth, voice commands, or built-in car systems, to access GPS, music, or make calls.
A hand-held phone may be used only to contact law enforcement or emergency services during an emergency.

Another heat wave is expected to affect the area tomorrow. Residents are advised to limit time spent outdoors, stay hydrated, and check on individuals who may be more vulnerable to high temperatures. If you begin to feel overheated, move indoors or seek shade immediately.

🚨 The warning period is ending! Beginning June 5, 2026 drivers can be cited under Paul Miller’s Law for using a handheld device while driving.

A text, call, scroll, or tap can wait. Keep your eyes on the road, your hands on the wheel, and your focus on driving.

📵 Put the phone down. Arrive alive.

June 1–7 is CPR & AED Awareness Week.

About 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. If someone you love collapses, you could be the difference between life and death.

CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.

Learn Hands-Only CPR in 2 simple steps:
✅ Call 911
✅ Push hard and fast in the center of the chest

Be ready. Be a lifesaver. What if it were them?
