πŸ“± ATTENTION DRIVERS: HANDS OFF YOUR PHONES!

🚨The grace period is officially over. Beginning June 5, 2026, law enforcement will transition from warnings to issuing summary citations to anyone caught violating Pennsylvania's distracted driving law.
Senate Bill 37, also known as Paul Miller's Law:
πŸ—“οΈ June 5, 2024: Governor Josh Shapiro signed the bill into law to eliminate handheld distractions and make our roads safer.
πŸ—“οΈ June 5, 2025: The law officially took effect, and police departments statewide spent the last 12 months issuing educational warning violations to drivers.
πŸ—“οΈ June 5, 2026: Full enforcement begins. Officers will now issue summary citations and fines to violators.
What does this mean for you?
❌ You CANNOT hold a cell phone or any interactive wireless device while driving.
❌ This includes when you are stopped at a red light, stop sign, or sitting in traffic.
βœ… Hands-free technology (like Bluetooth, speakerphone, or dashboard mounts) is still perfectly legal to use.
Distracted driving takes lives, be safe by putting the phones down and keeping our eyes on the road.

We checked the calendar and it is May, but it definitely feels like July! β˜€οΈπŸŒ‘οΈ

The Heat Miser is in town for the next few days, and we want everyone to stay safe in this unexpected heat wave.

Please keep these quick safety tips in mind:

🚰 Hydrate early: Drink plenty of water before you actually feel thirsty.

🐾 Check the backseat: Never leave children or pets in a parked car, even for a minute.

🚨 Call 911 immediately If you see a child or pet trapped in a hot vehicle, or anyone showing signs of having a heat -related emergency.

Temperatures look to drop back to normal by mid-week. Until then stay cool! 😎
