A partir del 1 de febrero, ¡tendremos nuevos horarios para el Makerspace! Los cambios más importantes son que cerraremos los viernes y abriremos los lunes.

**Sesiones de mañana y tarde**
Lunes y miércoles: 10:00 a 12:30, 14:00 a 17:00
Martes: (Horario de salida temprana de la escuela): 10:00 a 12:00, 13:00 a 17:00

**Sesión de tarde**
Jueves: 16:00 a 18:30

Les recordamos a quienes aún no lo hayan hecho que, por favor, traigan los formularios de autorización firmados a su primera sesión de 2026.

Greetings!
Starting February 1, we have new Makerspace Hours! The biggest changes are that we’ll be closed on Fridays and open on Mondays.

**Morning and Afternoon Sessions
Monday & Wednesday: 10am-12:30pm, 2pm-5pm
Tuesday: (School Early Release Hours): 10am-NOON, 1pm-5pm

**Evening Session
Thursday: 4pm-6:30pm

A reminder to those who haven’t already, please bring signed waivers to your first 2026 session.

Makerspace CLOSED

Just a heads-up that the Makerspace will be closed on Friday, November 21st.

✨ However—creativity doesn’t stop! Our Makerspace Checkout Kits are still available through the library. You can borrow kits and books from our Makerspace collection to keep making from home.

We’ll be back open for our regular schedule on Tuesday, November 25 — keep in mind the entire library will be closed next week on November 27th & 28th.

Thank you for your patience!

Dear Makers,
I wanted to let you know that I’ll be taking a short medical leave starting THIS Wednesday, Sept. 24. The Makerspace will be closed during this time and I plan to return Wednesday, Oct. 9.

We may have limited coverage on Tuesdays, September 30 and October 7. I’ll confirm as soon as I know for sure, so please keep an eye out for updates.

🎯 Thursdays (4:00–6:30 PM): Guided Project + Open Hours

Beginner sewing lessons will take place on Fridays in February from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the Makerspace! Participants can learn the basics of hand sewing and machine sewing and can make small projects to take home with them. These classes are free for all!

January’s young adult crafting circle was a blast! Makerspace crew member Cydney taught participants grades 5-8 various watercolor techniques, including color theory, how to use artist’s tape and drawing gum, and how to utilize everyday objects like table salt to experiment with the texture and overall look of watercolor paintings! 🎨🧑‍🎨
In February the young adult crafting circle will focus on experimenting with hydraulics to build (hopefully) moving popsicle stick robots! 🤖 The crafting circle will gather from 4:00 - 5:15 on Wednesdays in the Makerspace and is limited to grades 5 and up, with a focus on teen attendance.

Fold and color science zines this Thursday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Makerspace! These zines are from the Small Science Collective, a group of artists spreading science through their digital zine library! The county science fair will also be happening downstairs (and we have some fancy new markers you can use)! PLEASE NOTE: This is a passive activity happening during our adults only hours. Please be respectful of other folks who need to use the space!
