Thank you to the Mammoth Times for bringing awareness to important topic.

The annual Child Abuse Prevention Memorial Flag Raising Ceremony last Thursday, April 30, is, according to Mono County Superintendent of SchoolsTammy Bennett Nguyen, "more than a symbolic act, it’s our public commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community."

In today's (4/7/26) Mammoth Times , which you can buy at convenience stores and other retail outlets throughout the Eastern Sierra, as well as read online at mammothtimes.com, you can read about the flag raising gathering that happened last week in front of the Mammoth Lakes Courthouse.

"As an educational support agency," Bennet Nguyen said, "Mono County Office of Education is committed to supporting children and families across our county to learn, grow and thrive. This event highlights the multitude of wrap around supports our various county agencies provide to families so that every child in Mono County has the opportunity to grow up healthy, valued, and free from harm."
