This past Saturday, Company 3 had a crew in quarters for the engine, but no dedicated driver! A staffing request was sent out, and these two members responded. Chris Cozzie and Rusty Perkins, both of whom are Life Members with over twenty years of service, took turns covering the 24 hour period! This allowed the engine and medic to both have dedicated staffing, which was crucial as the company had several, simultaneous incidents throughout the day.

This was nothing new, as both of these members continually come in and cover staffing gaps on short notice. To Rusty and Chris: thank you!!

Company 3 is excited to share that Engine 631 was outfitted with several new Elkhart Brass nozzles yesterday! Before this investment was made, there was an assortment of different brands, models, and styles of nozzles on E631. With this recent delivery, the engine now has a standardized complement of high quality nozzles.

This is a great example of how your generous donations allow us to better serve our community! We could not be more thrilled about our newest additions!

04/19/20 - APARTMENT FIRE - Just before 0830 hours, Company 3 was alerted to respond for a reported apartment fire with people possibly still inside.

Engine 631 and Rescue 637 (with a combined total of eight personnel) arrived simultaneously to find smoke showing from floor #2. The company stretched a line to the second floor, assisted the occupants out of the apartment, and quickly extinguished the fire found on the balcony. The assignment was reduced to just Company 3 after the crews ensured there was no extension. Units remained on scene for a short while longer before returning to service.

05/22/20 - This afternoon, both of Centerville's ambulances were spotted together at the hospital.
Ambulances 630 and 633 (both combination crews) responded to two separate incidents in our first due that were dispatched only minutes apart. Having sufficient personnel in station today to handle both calls for service allowed the second due companies to remain available in their respective areas.

When emergencies occur, your career and volunteer personnel at Company 3 are here to help! No matter the type of emergency, we always strive to provide the best services possible and are honored to serve such a wonderful community.
