***CLASS #9 DISMISSED***

Congratulations to the graduates of Class #9 from the 2025 Manalapan Police Youth Academy! Class #9 consisted of 25 cadets from our community ranging in ages from 14-17. The cadets participated in a week long journey to learn about different law enforcement and public service careers from our Manalapan Township Police Officers.

To the graduating cadets: wear the lessons you’ve learned during your weeks with pride. Carry that teamwork, that resiliency, and that integrity with you in everything you do. You are leaving here not just stronger, but wiser—and the world needs more young people like you!

***CLASS #8 DISMISSED***

Congratulations to the graduates of Class #8 from the 2025 Manalapan Police Youth Academy! Class #8 consisted of 19 cadets from our community ranging in ages from 12-14. The cadets participated in a week long journey to learn about different law enforcement and public service careers from our Manalapan Township Police Officers.

We are looking forward to next week in which our 15-17 year old cadets will be reporting for Class #9!

***NJ LAW ENFORCEMENT YOUTH ACADEMY***

From July 19th to July 25th, members of the Manalapan Township Police Cadets Unit 951 attended the New Jersey Law Enforcement Youth Academy at Drew University.

Cadets Barte and Truglio attended the Academy in which they woke up everyday at 0500 hours for physical training. Following PT and morning chow, they would then break up into their specific Phases of training for more in depth instruction.

Phases 1 and 2 focus primarily on classroom work and scenarios based on various law enforcement topics.

Phase 3 builds on what the Cadets have learned, they are provided with equipment and sent out on campus to patrol. During this Phase they take what they have learned in previous years and apply that knowledge to various scenarios that the Advisors have dealt with during their time as police officers.

Phase 4 focuses on building a resume and mock interviews. On the final day of the Academy, Phase 4 Cadets sit one by one in front of a panel of various Chiefs of Police and interview to become the candidate of choice for the Academy.

During the Academy, our Cadets accomplished the following:
-Cadet Barte completed his Phase 4 Training and successfully completed the NJ law Enforcement Youth Academy!
-Cadet Truglio completed her Phase 2 Training and will be moving onto Phase 3 next summer. Additionally, she was awarded 1st Place in her Phase for Arrest, Search and Seizure as well as 3rd Place for Narcotics Investigations!

It was a long hard week away from home but the Cadets were able to come together as a team and finish strong. The Cadets and their Advisors would like to thank the Manalapan Township Police Department and the community for their constant support.

It should also be noted that Patrolman Sosnowski (Retired - who is also the Lead Drill Instructor for the Academy) was awarded the 2025 Sergeant John Greene Perseverance Award for his dedication, commitment, and steadfastness achieving success!

***2025 MANALAPAN POLICE YOUTH ACADEMY***

The members of the Manalapan Township Police Cadets are pleased to announce that the 2025 Manalapan Police Youth Academy is scheduled for two separate sessions this year:

-Monday, July 28 until Friday, August 1st will be for individuals between the ages of 12-14

-Monday, August 4th until Friday, August 8th will be for individuals between the ages of 14-17

***MANALAPAN YOUTH POLICE ACADEMY***

Today, we have officially started our Annual Manalapan Youth Police Academy with 25 young, eager and motivated recruits to learn what it’s like to be a police officer. The recruits were quickly brought into formation by Instructors where they attended our Welcoming and Roll Call in which they received introductions and words of encouragement from our Staff. Throughout the week, the recruits will meet various Instructors from federal, state, county and local agencies to gain a further understanding of the law enforcement profession. Recruits will additionally be trained in military drill, physical training, defensive tactics, simulators/scenarios and team building exercises culminating to a Graduation this Friday evening. **Cadets Graduate State Academy**

Congratulations to Cadets Shayne T., Owen P. and Kurt B. on graduating the New Jersey Law Enforcement Explorers Academy this past week. These three Cadets endured a week long academy at Drew University along with 80+ other cadets from around the state learning about the career of Law Enforcement.

The cadets participated in a week long journey to learn about different law enforcement and public service careers from our Manalapan Township Police Officers.

**Cadets Graduate 2023 Academy**

Congratulations to Manalapan Cadets Frank Decola, Kurt Barte and Josh Post as well as all the explorers and cadets who graduated the 2023 NJ LE Explorer Academy in Morristown, NJ this past week. These recruits spent one full week of training on the campus of St. Elizabeth College with Ptl. Sosnowski and Ptl. Earley as well as 30 other officers from all over the state. The recruits were up for PT at 5am and ended with training at 7pm each day learning about the profession of Law Enforcement.

The members of Manalapan PBA Local #229 would like to congratulate Manalapan High School senior Gianna Trani for being chosen as the recipient of our Annual PBA Scholarship which was presented last week. While being a senior in High School and apart of the School Band, Gianna Trani also attended the Academy of Law Enforcement and Public Safety, is an active member of the Manalapan Township Police Cadets, and works part time as a SLEO 1 with the Bradley Beach Police Department. She is an exemplary young female leader and role model within our community who we look forward to succeeding as she continues her education studying Criminal Justice this upcoming year at Brookdale Community College. Congratulation Gianna Trani, our members and community are proud of you!
