On Tuesday, two of our members - Bridgit Valgenti and Jill Wells - were on hand to assist the Manasquan lifeguards during the Manasquan Elks Lodge ( #2534) annual ‘Day at the Beach.’
Our neighbors from Elks Lodge 2534 have hosted children from Elks Camp Moore - which is located in the Ramapo Mountains of northern New Jersey - at our beautiful beachfront here for more than 30 years.
Dozens of campers were bussed from Haskell (Passaic County) to the Ocean Avenue Beach, which thanks to the Elks, is always specially equipped for accessibility - featuring a wheelchair-friendly hardscape surface and surf/beach chairs to assist beach patrons with physical disabilities getting down into the water!
We are proud to play a very small role in this wonderful day. Special thank you to Manasquan Chief Lifeguard Doug Anderson for deputizing us as mobile rescue EMTs for the day!
