Dear Residents,
This newsletter highlights the projects that the town will be undertaking this year. The BoroughCouncil members and staff have been working hard over recent months and years to bringthese projects to fruition.
We are proud that all of them align with our commitment to stability and predictability in thetax rate – this year’s budget will be no different than the last 10 years of budgets: a $0.01increase on the tax rate.
This edition of the newsletter also highlights the new Manasquan App – this is another way thatthe Borough Council and I have developed to allow residents greater access to theirgovernment. We truly believe that you are not only entitled to know what Town Hall is doing, and why, but that you have a right to be heard if you disagree or have a better idea.
The Manasquan App has streamlined contact information for borough Departments and Boardsand Commissions to make it easier for you to reach the person or get the information you need.It will have the latest news and announcements, Council and Planning Board meeting agendas, the town calendar, the latest information on all Borough projects, links to social media andpayment sites, and more.
This first version of the app is simple and clear and provides the most relevant information thatresidents seek the most often. We plan to expand its capabilities in the coming years. Inaddition to the app, the Borough Website is going to be refreshed and simplified – making iteasier to find the information you need.
The Borough Council and I are committed to providing the most transparent governmentpossible, built to encourage and harness the feedback that the residents provide – regardless ofthe issue. We really believe that the best result comes from the most inclusive process. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the Borough Council anytime with any questions, concerns or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mike ManganMayor
