We are planning to perform a prescribed fire in the Brawner Farm area of the park today, Thursday, April 9, 2026. The activity is weather-dependent and will only take place if conditions are ideal for a prescribed fire.

For your safety, and our firefighters' safety, the area is closed to the public during fire operations. The area will reopen when it is safe for the public to re-enter.

01/28/2026

The Manassas National Battlefield Park will have a delayed opening Wednesday, January 28th due to anticipated unsafe road conditions in the morning hours. The park and Henry Hill Visitor Center will be open at 10am.

Grounds will be open with limited access as crews work to address hazardous conditions, including snow, ice, and downed trees. We will continue to reopen areas as soon as it is safe. For the latest updates, visitors should check https://www.nps.gov/mana/index.htm and park social media accounts for more information.

Due to the anticipated widespread winter weather impacts, the Manassas National Battlefield Park will be closed starting on Sunday, January 25th for visitor safety and to allow crews to address hazardous conditions, including snow, ice, and downed trees. There are only a few days left to apply to be a Community Volunteer Ambassador (CVA) at Manassas NBP!

CVAs are youth who serve in 50-week internships that support volunteers and volunteerism at National Park sites. This is a great way to get started working with the National Park Service by gaining some real world, on the job experience.

This year, starting in late February, our selected CVA will support the park's volunteer program by streamlining administration of the program (including transitioning volunteers to volunteer.gov), assisting in planning volunteer events, identifying and supporting volunteer opportunities in consultation with staff, and helping to serve as a bridge between the battlefield and the community.
