For many years, the Annex Building quietly served as the heart of our agency's daily operations. It housed Human Resources, Training, and the Uniform Division, making it one of the first stops for countless employees as they began their careers and one of the places they returned to throughout their service.
The Annex was never known for its architecture or appearance. Instead, its significance came from the people who walked through its doors and the work that took place inside. New employees completed their paperwork there, attended training, received their uniforms, and took their first steps into careers dedicated to public service. For many, the building holds memories of first days, promotions, friendships, and milestones.
For years, rumors circulated that the Annex Building would eventually be demolished. The speculation became part of its story, with many believing the day would never actually come. Now, after decades of faithful service, that day has finally arrived.
While the building itself will soon be gone, its legacy will remain with the generations of employees whose careers were shaped within its walls. The Annex Building may disappear from the landscape, but it will continue to occupy a place in the history of our agency and in the memories of all who passed through its doors.
