Dear Students,
This morning, I made a sacrifice to be here at – Unidas Sin Miedo because representation matters.

I want young Latina women to see courage in action—to know that their voices belong in every room where decisions are made and that their dreams are worthy of being pursued without apology.

As the saying goes, “The courage to show up is often the first step toward changing the world.”

That is why I am here today: to support, uplift, and stand alongside women who are leading with purpose, resilience, and heart.

Soy Diana Brown, y soy una Latina sin miedo.

Amoy y Corazon,
Ms. Brown

Dear Manassas,
There are anonymous accusations circulating online regarding a school leader in our community.

I do not usually respond to posts like these, but I believe deeply in fairness, truth, accountability, and due process. Let me be clear: allegations involving student safety are always taken seriously and investigated by the proper authorities.

Let me also be absolutely clear: abuse, neglect, or harm toward children will never be tolerated. Protecting children always comes first, and anyone who truly knows me knows I would never stay silent in the face of harm. I do not care about appearances, politics, or titles when it comes to the safety of children. I care about doing what is right, asking hard questions, and ensuring that every child is protected.

But protecting children and protecting truth are not opposing values. We can support accountability while also recognizing the damage anonymous accusations, misinformation, and incomplete narratives can cause.

In today’s climate, it has become far too easy to publicly destroy reputations before facts are fully understood. We should be careful not to confuse accusation with proof.

Sometimes leadership means asking hard questions. Sometimes it means standing beside people when it would be easier to remain silent. Both require courage.

As a community, we should demand accountability rooted in facts, not fueled by rumor. We should protect children fiercely while also protecting the integrity of truth and due process. I am asking our community to choose responsibility over outrage and facts over speculation.

So proud!

OneOsbourn-Osbourn High School Graduates,

I wrote each of you a letter that I had hoped to include in your packet. I have since published your letter in the magazine — and I’ll share it with you soon.

But for now, I leave you with this:

Don’t wait for anyone to open doors for you. Engineer your own way to the keys that unlock them all.

I did — and it made all the difference.

You are the force behind every master key.

Love,
Ms. Brown

Every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated. One of the most meaningful parts of serving on the Manassas City School Board is recognizing the incredible talent, leadership, creativity, and hard work happening across our schools each day.

Celebrating our students not only honors their achievements, but reminds them that their community believes in them and is invested in their future. Congratulations to all of the students and educators recognized during this week’s Superintendent’s Announcements and Spotlights.

As a proud member of the Manassas City Public Schools School Board, it was an incredible honor to establish and award the inaugural Brown Scholars Community Excellence Scholarship this year through the Manassas City Public Schools Education Foundation. Service, humility, and excellence are values that continue to guide my work, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the students and families we serve.

Through this initiative, we proudly awarded two $1,000 scholarships to students who are making a difference in their communities through compassion, leadership, and service to others. Supporting the next generation of changemakers is one of the greatest privileges of serving our community.
