Teens can explore leadership opportunities with the Boxes of Basics Teen Board, where high school students help pack boxes, lead outreach projects, raise awareness, and support local children and families.

Parents and community members can also help local youth start the school year with confidence by donating much-needed clothing and essentials.

🎯 Trigger Time 4-H Families: We Need You!
Now is the time to get involved and help strengthen the future of Trigger Time 4-H Club!

We're encouraging parents, volunteers, and experienced teens (16+) to consider becoming Virginia 4-H Shooting Education Instructors or Apprentice Instructors. Trigger Time currently needs certified volunteers in several disciplines, including archery, rifle, pistol, shotgun, and muzzleloading. We also need a certified Club Coordinator.

✅ Instructor Training: October 10-11
✅ Registration Deadline: September 14
✅ Club support available for training costs

Youth members can also start planning for exciting opportunities this fall, including air rifle leagues, postal matches, and the RL Harris Jr. Memorial 4-H Shotgun Championship.

🍎🥼🔬 Interested in 4-H Food Challenge contests? This opportunity is for you!

Take your food knowledge beyond the kitchen and explore the science behind food safety and quality at the 4-H Beyond Ready Institute: Food Safety & Food Quality Workshop on Saturday, October 3 in Petersburg, VA.

Designed for youth ages 14-18, this hands-on experience will give participants the chance to:
✅ Harvest fresh produce from Randolph Farm
✅ Test food quality and safety using real scientific methods
✅ Explore microbes and contamination under a microscope
✅ Learn how food science connects to agriculture and community health

✨ Bonus Opportunity: Youth participants and their accompanying 4-H volunteer or agent will be invited to attend IGNITE 2027, with registration covered!
